The challenge of protecting bats that inhabit human settlements is not unique to Ukraine. In the EU — especially in countries like the Netherlands and Germany — this issue is addressed at the legislative level and supported by strong conservation policies. To bring the best European practices to Ukraine, we are developing international partnerships.
On 23 of April 2025 we officially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Vivara Pro — a leading European company that designs and manufactures high-quality products and integrated solutions for nature conservation, including bat boxes, nesting sites, and monitoring tools.
We plan to cooperate on several key directions:
– the implementation of bat boxes to support bat populations in urban and semi-urban areas;
– acoustic monitoring using modern detectors and analysis tools;
– joining the European Center for Building for Biodiversity;
– exchange of experience and collaboration on other conservation and educational activities.
We are truly grateful for this opportunity to work together and promote bat-friendly solutions across borders. Vivara Pro is also committed to partially supporting our bat rescue and rehabilitation work in Ukraine.
