Recently, members of Bat Rehab Center (Olena Rodenko and Anastasiia Domanskaia) took a part in Polish National Chiropterological Conference. It was held on November, 18-19, at picturesque surroundings of Wieżyca Hill, near Gdansk, Poland.
Generally, Conference was devoted to modern issues in bat conservation and monitoring in Poland. Our participants had one speech and one poster. The speech contained information about the work of Bat Rehab Center over a 5-year period (since 2012). The poster presented results of treatment of bats during 2017.
It is worth to say that this kind of work is unique among specialists in Eastern Europe. Thus, it was not strange, why our poster aroused the interest of Polish chiropterologists.
November 22-25, 2017 member of the Bat Rehab Center Elena Holovchenko participated in the Ninth International Zoological Congress of the Museum “Grigore Antipa” (CZGA 2017), which was held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Margareta of Romania. At the plenary lectures, all participants had the opportunity to hear the reports of invited speakers from around the world. In addition, 75 posters were presented at the congress, which highlighted the most diverse aspects of animal biology. Among the three winners at the poster session, Olena’s poster “ Whose females are larger? Sex dimorphism in skull parameters of two air-hawking Vespertilionidae bats” took the third place. We thank the organizing committee for the excellent holding of the zoological congress.
